Experience

Since beginning work at 16 I have worked in retail and events. Below highlights the companies and positions I have worked in, plus the task and responsibilities I had in these roles.

Event Planner,
University of Bath
Aug 2020 - Present

Temporary Event Assistant,
University of Bath
Sept 2018 – July 2019

I completed my placement year at the University of Bath as part of my Event Management degree.

During this time, I assisted the Development and Alumni Relations Team (DDAR) in the coordination and delivery of various events, including large-scale dinners for HNW individuals, networking events and career panels for junior alumni, and international engagements for graduates and staff.

Following graduation, I secured a permanent role in DDAR Team at the University of Bath thanks to my exemplary performance and service.

I now lead on the planning and delivery of all UK-based engagement events and assist in the delivery of our international activity programme.

The COVID pandemic presented a challenge to the events sector, however I chose to use this as an opportunity to rebrand and relaunch a series of virtual careers events targeting University of Bath graduates and students. The series amassed

300+ live attendees, and session recordings remain consistently viewed via University of Bath video-hosting platforms.

A significant part of my current role involves the planning and delivery of large-scale institutional events (100+ attendees), which can involve Senior members of University of Bath Staff, major donors to the University and/or high-profile individuals (such as the University’s Chancellor, HRH The Earl of Wessex).

I have also expanded the remit of my role to incorporate the production of social media and email marketing materials, as well as creating copy for the DDAR (University of Bath) blog.

Sales Assistant,
Longleat Safari Park | New Look | Debenhams
Aug 2014 – Sept 2019

During my 5 years as a sales assistant, I undertook various tasks which include:

  • Serving, helping, and assisting customers in various tasks

  • Handling money, including use of a till and cashing-up at the end of the day

  • Organising break times for colleagues

  • Focusing on the smallest details to make the store and stock as appealing as possible, to entice customers into the shop.
